Majority of the women in the globe are blotting out the mask that blurs them from regarding life in an emancipated manner.

Women have jumped on the fastest plane so that they are not left behind by the digital generation. Pronto, women are moving from,

'Let him speak for me' to 'Let us speak for the world'.

Due to this, there is a sky- scrapping rise of women in media than in the early eighties.

Women have emanated and dauntlessly taken up courses so that they can compete in an unwavering manner in the media world.

From 1739, where we witnessed Elizabeth Timothy become the first female in American colonies to assume the role of publisher of a newspaper, we have seen the changing trends of society birth modernistic and substantial female journalists.

Much more, the changing trends have fronted the need for women emancipation hence the weighty call for publicity of issues that greatly affect women in the world. This can be apprised of in all types of media today.

Unfortunately, the number of women in the newsrooms is still outcompeted by that of men. Ironically, the number of women studying journalism is higher than that of men.

This begets us to ask oneself where the men filling up these newsrooms come from and where the women with qualifications in media disappear to.

As much as there is a sign that women are coming out to speak about issues affecting them, there is little representation of women in the media. Basing on this, the 'Women's Page' has come up as a responsive mechanism to this problem.

The women's page is a solution to the unwritten voice of women, majorly aiming at providing a platform for all women to express themselves, their ideas, achievements and challenges in a fair, balanced and timely manner.
